Overview
Buildcom International (Handova) is a digital platform that simplifies the home handover process between builders, homeowners, and service providers. It includes a web portal for builders and mobile apps for homeowners and service providers, enabling seamless communication, issue tracking, and access to all property-related details in one place.
Purpose of the App
To digitize and centralize the handover experience by giving every stakeholder — builders, homeowners, and service providers — an easy way to manage property information, compliance certificates, and reported issues through an intuitive, connected platform.
Problem Statement
The traditional home handover process is fragmented and manual, leading to misplaced documents, delayed maintenance, and poor communication. Builders, homeowners, and contractors lacked a unified system to manage information efficiently — creating confusion and inefficiency throughout the process.

Conclusion
The Buildcom (Handova) project successfully transformed a complex, paper-based home handover process into a seamless digital experience. By designing an integrated ecosystem for builders, homeowners, and service providers, the platform improved transparency, communication, and accessibility.
Through a user-centered approach and close collaboration with stakeholders, the final design delivered a clean, intuitive interface that simplifies property management and builds trust across all parties. This project reinforced my belief that thoughtful design can bridge operational gaps and create real value — not just for businesses, but for everyday users navigating life’s practical challenges.
If there was more time available…
If there was more time, I would have focused on conducting deeper usability testing with real homeowners and builders to gather more insights into how the product performs in real-world conditions. This would have helped refine the user experience and validate key design decisions more effectively.
I also would have explored building a scalable design system and incorporated micro-interactions to enhance usability and feedback. These additions would not only improve consistency across platforms but also make the product feel more polished, intuitive, and ready for future expansion.
Learnings
Gained deeper insight into designing for multi-stakeholder ecosystems with distinct user needs.
Learned to create clear, intuitive user flows that simplify complex data and workflows.
Improved collaboration with developers and business teams, aligning design goals with technical feasibility.
Understood the value of building scalable and consistent design systems for future product growth.
Realized how thoughtful UX decisions can transform complicated real-world processes into seamless digital experiences.
Challenges Solved
Fragmented communication between builders, homeowners, and service providers was streamlined through an integrated messaging and issue-tracking system.
Manual document handling was replaced with a centralized digital repository for compliance certificates, floor plans, and appliance details.
Lack of role-based clarity was addressed by designing tailored interfaces and dashboards for each user type.
Information overload was simplified with structured navigation, clear hierarchy, and an intuitive user flow.
Development misalignment was minimized by maintaining consistent design documentation and close collaboration during handoff.
