Overview
The Australian Scaffolding project focused on redesigning their website to improve user accessibility, product discovery, and the overall shopping experience. The new design enabled users to search, view, and compare edge protection systems, as well as easily place enquiries or complete purchases online.
Purpose of the Web App
The main objective was to create a seamless digital experience that allowed users to browse products, filter by category, view detailed technical information, and directly purchase or enquire about products. The site also needed to reflect the brand’s industry authority while maintaining simplicity for both commercial and residential customers.
Problem Statement
Previously, users could only view products and submit enquiries manually, resulting in a slow and inefficient purchasing process. The lack of a streamlined product search, cart system, and order functionality made navigation difficult and discouraged conversions. The challenge was to design an intuitive, modern interface that simplified complex product structures and empowered users to find and buy the right edge protection system effortlessly.

Conclusion
The redesign of the Australian Scaffolding website successfully transformed the user experience from a simple product catalogue to a fully interactive e-commerce platform. Users can now browse, compare, and order products effortlessly, while the brand benefits from improved visibility and streamlined customer communication. The project strengthened the company’s digital presence and positioned it as a modern, accessible, and customer-focused leader in the scaffolding industry.
If there was more time available…
With additional time, I would focus on implementing advanced filtering and recommendation systems to enhance product discovery. Conducting usability testing sessions with returning customers would also provide valuable insights to refine checkout flows and improve navigation. Additionally, optimizing the mobile experience for on-site contractors could further boost accessibility and real-time usability.
